Life
revolves around money so it cannot fail to be part of a discussion as
poignant as how to apply The Secret in our life. Here we take a
cynical look at money and see where it fits in within this realm.
The
Secret and the Law of Attraction can bring you money, but it is not
about money. It is certainly not about empty, proud, cold, wealth
that stems out of the greed mindset. It is about fulfilling your
purpose, which is expressed in your deepest, most treasured dreams.
The dream of your heart is your purpose on earth.
Our
society tends to make us jump right to careers when we hear that, but
it might not be a career at all. Your passion may be to parent your
child. Your passion may be to be the best friend you can possibly be.
Your passion may be to give enough that 1,000 new wells get built in
parts of the world that currently have none.
Most
things cannot happen without money.
Money
starts companies. Money builds bridges and roads. Money brings the
security and freedom a parent needs to focus on parenting. Money
brings the resources for philanthropy. Money is actually what
sustains economic life on this earth. Without it, not a single button
could change hands. We have built the world on the base of money and
now there‘s no way we can run away from it.
If
you fall into the trap of believing that money is evil, then only
evil people will have money. Do we really want our beliefs to ensure
that only pimps, drug dealers, warmongers, and cheats enjoy
abundance while the good people of the world struggle? Of course not!
Or if we think that being wealthy demands that somebody else be poor,
then we will not be wealthy.
How
many times have you heard negative associations with money in our
common day language? Consider these…
Rich people are greedy and
dishonest.
The rich get richer while
the poor get poorer.
You have to work too hard to
get wealthy.
Money doesn’t grow on
trees.
No gains without pains.
Money makes false friends.
My family has never been
rich.
This
is our everyday language. But, looking at these expressions, it does
seem that money is a very bad thing, doesn‘t it? No one would have
a positive impression of money if they are educated with these!
In
fact, this is the reason why so many people in the world are bogged
down by problems concerning money. We learn such negative
associations about money that we begin feeling that money is a very
bad thing.
Our
parents, teachers, religious preachers, spiritual gurus, everyone
tell us that money is a very bad thing to have. But then even these
people are in the game for the money, right? We develop such a bad
perspective about money from our early childhood from these people
that throughout life we do not consider it favorably. And when we
grow up, we pass on this mantle of hatred toward money to our
children and they grow up hating it too.
The
result – one financially limited generation gives birth to another.
We
need to stop this cycle right now. We need to remove this highly
incorrect view about money that we are fed on. We have to make
friends with money.
Build
on the positive. If you tell yourself you‘ll have money, then the
universe recognizes that energy and will reward you with positive
situations and prosperity. If you think negatively about your success
and wealth the universe also recognizes this energy and you will not
see much.
Yet
if money is all that you focus on, money will always elude you. For
one thing, we tend to store a lot of mental garbage when it comes to
money. We tend to have a lot of fears about money. Fear is always
counterproductive.
Bypass
money entirely. It‘s not important here. It‘s necessary, but it‘s
not all that important to you.
Joseph
Campbell said, ―If you follow your bliss, the money will follow.‖
Get settled with the idea that you need money to achieve your dreams
and that there‘s nothing wrong with that. Then ignore it. Turn your
attention to your bliss. That is where the Secret will begin to work
for you. That is where your emotions will supercharge your thoughts
into the change you need.
